18th Jul 17

Summary —

In front 300+ stakeholders from the NFP community, ADIA won the Association Of The Year award in recognition of its ability to work with members to allow businesses in the dental industry to grow, create jobs and operate sustainably.

Key Issues For The Dental Industry —

The Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) was named Association of the Year before more than three hundred stakeholders from across the not-for-profit sector at a gala dinner held in Sydney on 17 July 2017.  The awards were presented by Associations Forum, a body committed to assisting associations and charities in governance, operations, membership and finances.

The Association of the Year Award is presented to an association that has distinguished itself by achieving all-round excellence.  The award recognises ADIA’s demonstrated ability to influence government decision making, deliver world-class exhibitions and publish meaningful market intelligence.  It also recognises the fact that thanks to prudent financial management ADIA delivers its services at a cost to members lower than would otherwise be the case.

“As a result of careful stewardship and the support of a highly engaged membership, ADIA is able to help the dental industry to grow, create jobs and operate sustainably.  Being named Association of the year is a great tribute to the many individuals who, over many years, have worked to ensure that ADIA is an integral partner to the industry it represents,” said Phil Jolly, ADIA National President.

The Associations Forum judges recognised ADIA’s commitment to member engagement that drives a process of continual evolution to ensure that the Association remains relevant to the needs of its member businesses.

“This award acknowledges the outstanding contribution of one particular group of people, the team in the ADIA National Office lead by Troy Williams, our Chief Executive Officer.  ADIA and its membership could not be better served by a group of professionals who are dedicated to supporting our member businesses and creating opportunities for the dental industry to flourish,” Mr Jolly said.

ADIA was formed in 1925 and since that time has grown to represent the businesses that manufacture and supply more than ninety-five percent of the products used by dentists and allied oral healthcare professionals.  ADIA’s support for the dental industry includes convening Australia’s largest healthcare trade show, the biennial ADX Sydney exhibition, through to policy advocacy that’s designed to cut the red tape faced by the industry.

“ADIA’s commitment is to provide leadership, strategy, advocacy and support. Our members set our agenda, fund our activities and directly benefit from the results – this award is a great independent recognition of our success in this area,” Mr Jolly concluded.
