ADIA's engagement with external stakeholders is undertaken within the context of a strategy that provides confidence that ADIA has the support of its members and is willing to constructively engage with stakeholders where the need arises or the opportunity exists to progress matters of shared interest.
Key Issues For Consideration —
As the peak business organisation representing manufacturers and suppliers of dental products, the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) has a vision for an industry that empowers oral health professionals to advance the health and well-being of all Australians. To achieve this we need to work with stakeholders across the business community, government, consumers and the healthcare profession.
The ADIA External Stakeholder Engagement Strategy is all about building trust with key stakeholders and, where there are shared interests, coalitions of stakeholders that work collectively to successfully address the challenges we face.
External Stakeholder Engagement Objectives —
||Develop a shared awareness and understanding of the issues affecting dental product manufacturers and suppliers.
||Creating sustainable coalitions of like minded organisations that will allow the dental industry to empower oral health professionals to advance the health and well-being of all Australians.
ADIA’s recognised capacity to bring stakeholders together is the result of a considered approach It recognises that collective leadership is the key to bringing together groups with disparate interests to work together in more fruitful and constructive ways. In addition to the parliamentary stakeholders that ADIA maintains regular dialogue with, there are a number of groups with which ADIA works that are set out below:

A major feature of the ADIA External Stakeholder Engagement Strategy is that it seeks to assure confidence among external stakeholders that ADIA has the support of its members and is willing to constructively engage with stakeholders where the need arises or the opportunity exists to progress matters of shared interest.
Underpinning Stakeholder Engagement Principles —
Engagement activities will be purposeful and tailored to suite each stakeholder
Engagement activities will be diverse and regular to build strong relationships
Engagement activities will be evaluated to ensure that all stakeholders are deriving meaningful benefit
ADIA Culture will be exhibited through all engagement activities
The ADIA External Stakeholder Engagement Strategy provides the over-arching direction for ADIA’s interaction with government, industry associations, professional bodies in addition to consumers and their representatives. It provides guidance on what these organisations can expect from ADIA in their dealings with us. Supporting documents include the ADIA Parliamentary Engagement and Advocacy Strategy that provides internal guidance on ADIA’s engagement with politicians.
ADIA’s vision is for an industry that empowers oral health professionals to advance the health and well-being of all Australians. The ADIA External Stakeholder Engagement Strategy is part of approach to achieve this vision.
